It seems like eons ago... Mike and I trekked across the United States in our 36 ft. RV. We were young at heart baby boomers looking for a rewarding way to spend our retirement. Neither of us were born into ranching families. He is a Metallurgical Engineer and Florida State Certified General Contractor. I loved teaching elementary school. Living a life surrounded by nature had been my dream since high school after devouring a novel called "Green Mansions" by William Henry Hudson. This poignant love story set in forests deep in the heart of South America sparked the nature conservation movement.
Discovering a magical land like this was a completely serendipitous occurrence. It was also the biggest commitment we would ever make.
